Default New to affiliate program, help please!
Hi,

I just opened my new CP shop and I'm seeking affiliates, but not sure if I have to sign up for a program or can I just announce my shop on the Merchant Spot?

Also, does CP handle all the affiliate transactions or how does this program work?

Hi there!

If you're only going to be a shopkeeper and not an affiliate marketer then you're not exactly "in the affiliate program", just for clarification. It will help some miscommunication.

So, you're wanting to attract affiliates! You need to do the following things:

  1. Try to keep your shop "leak free" meaning don't send visitors that I send you as an affiliate off to other sites where they might buy something besides what I sent them to.
  2. Keep your markups reasonably up. If I have the choice between sending someone to a $14.99 shirt and a $19.99 shirt I'll probably send them to the $19.99, because I get 15% of the sale.
  3. Post here in the forums to announce your shop/designs to let interested affiliates know about your stuff.
  4. Create an "affiliate" section in your shop explaining the affiliate program a little and even providing banners and top sellers or a newsletter for affiliates.
  5. Make sure you are "opted in" to the marketplace and affiliate sales in your shop setup at CafePress.
What you don't need to do:
  1. You don't need to sign up for the affiliate program at Commission Junction if you're just going to be a shopkeeper providing designs. That's only for affiliate marketers.

Were can I found information about the 'affiliate program' -commission, affiliate agreement, online affiliate application, html coding etc.- I can use on my affiliate section.
Is this question belongs to the other forum?
