Linkshare's Payments
It's bad enough that they're still the only Network that thinks it's acceptable for merchants to be months in arrears, like collecting our commissions for our sales isn't even a priority...
but today I logged into Bank of America and there was a Linkshare deposit. I log into Linkshare to see what it's for...
NOTHING!

I'm a real, licensed business!!
If money is put in my business account, I have to enter it into the books. I have to assign it to something!
If, as they say, it takes 2 business days for their payment to show up in my bank account, then they've had at least 2 business days to update the payment report and let us know what the money is for
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhh hhhhh

BK, I had DD probs with them too. I switched back to mailing the check to my PO Box (do not want checks that big sitting in my mailbox on the street LOL).
They come like clockwork and my bank is next to the post office so it's no hassle. I guess direct deposit would work better if they mailed the check to the bank
Just wanna say, I lurk through this forum almost everyday and it is great.

Linkshare is the only program that I don't have DD with. Can't remember exactly why but I do recall some DD problems a while back ago, so I switched to check payments and no probs since.

When you login to LS, there's always a yellow box that says "Payment Sent"... you click it, it says to log into synergyanalytics to find out the specifics
I just figured something out.
That yellow box was gone yesterday. So whenever it dissapears... that's when they're paying you - lolol
On the bright side...

Hi Billy K.
When I need to know that I just go to Synergy Analytics, and go to payment info. It seems to match my records. (Paranoia setting in: doesn't it?)
I was just thinking how much better everything has been at LS this holiday season.

Sorry, I don't go to SA, I go to the "other newer" login. This is a problem with LS -way too many login options. When you get the choice about traditional or "the other" login. I go to "the other" login. Then you see payment info and you click on that. I just checked again - and it matches my records. Of course it may depend on the merchants involved. Sorry SA options don't work.

The last payment I got from Linkshare was 12/17... for two bucks... which during the holiday season, sux!
I've confirmed that my large merchants have paid linkshare for october and november, and 3 days ago the yellow box that says "Payment Sent" dissapeared - which means LS was updating payment reports that day. I thought to myself, finally! a payment!
The box never reappeared - only yellow box is a list of new merchants
So I called those people who are paid to never answer a question, that LS refers to as Customer Support, and asked "When will LS be sending out payments"
She started with the we can't pay until merchants pay speech
I came back with proof that my merchants have already paid LS
I asked again, when will LS issues direct deposits
She said weekly
I retorted "Today's friday, the week's over. When will LS be issuing checks?"
We went back and forth for 1/2 hour. She simply could not answer a simple when will LS pay us question. It wasn't about a specific merchant. Not about me. Just a general when will ls pay "us"
So as always, I ask for a supervisor. As always, there's none currently there.
I ask for her name, tell her in no uncertain terms, that if I can't get an answer from her, if there's no superviser present, and she can't connect me to any person in the whole corporation who can tell me when they will make a payment, I will once again ask the BBB to help me get a response.
Why they let these people answer phones who can not, will not answer questions is beyond me.

I prefer payment by checks from all the networks.
Linkshare for a while was sending me checks like clockwork (although the checks were very small -- i.e. I've received checks from them for under $10).
Good luck with getting your payment problems straightened out.

I discovered that Linkshare support is all about luck of the draw
This thread was started because LS makes direct deposts, but the site has a flaw and doesn't tell me what the commissions are for. I called support, and that person said he has no access to that info. No superviser has access. Only the account knows, and affiliates aren't allowed to contact him
The above post was when will the next DD be, as it has been weeks? The person couldn't tell me. No supervisers was there.
So... LS support can't tell affiliates when Linkshare issues checks, and if you get them, what they're for.
I called LS later yesterday about another issue. I filled out a missing transaction report in December, the update showed the merchant manually credited the sale, but still not showing on any LS reports
While talking to the rep, I mentioned my earlier call... and she said they did a direct deposit on 12/31, it wasn't showing yet in LS while they update their site, the deposit was for $xxx, and it was for the following merchants.
Sure enough, LS shows a DD was made on 12/31 and the report that says what it's for is still an error message.
So support reps apparently DO have access to the information - why they don't want to share it with affiliates is beyond reason.

Linkshare's financial bloopers and lack of coordination could be fodder for a comedy sketch on a sitcom like Seinfeld

You know... this all falls under the heading of this is a business. Not a hobby, not an avocation, not playing tiddly winks.. It's business.
If your not reviewing your numbers daily and taking action based on those numbers your just not watching out for your business. A merchant who isn't paying? Instantly cut off til they're paid up. A network not fulfilling? Instantly cut off. A program not paying well? I'm hunting other offers that convert better and pay more with a mind to my bottom line.
Not everyone is a scumbag (but there are plenty) but allowing a merchant, network, etc. to have some of your money and not give it to you rates being cut off. You allow them to dig deeper into your pockets by not taking action and it's your own damned fault.
I've been using AffMeter (they're online here, use Search) and the ability to look at your performance, stats, payouts, etc. every day is pretty friggin good. Saves a ton of time that I use to change offers to better performing ones, cut off merchants quicker if they don't have their deposits in order and I do it at least once a day. Most times twice a day.
And if a merchant gets behind? You'd better believe I'm on the network people like white on rice. If they don't like it, tough... It's money.. My money.
Its "Fool me once, shame on you.. Fool me twice, shame on me". Watch your business and take action and nobody's gonna get into your pockets for much.
