Am I too late?
Hey all,
If you've been following my blog you might have realized I haven't posted in over a week. From feverently posting (multiple blogs in one day) to a week gap. The reason is because I feel discouraged and as if the market is over saturated.
My first goal from AM is to make at least $10 a day.
I know that it's what I'm supposed to be doing but for some reason I just cant make it work for me. This is probably one of the only things in my life that I can spend 14 hours in one sitting working on and not even notice the time pass by.
I enjoy reading marketing techniques and trying to apply them myselvf. I feel bombarded though on the Internet. Confused as to where to start. I've identified several niches that I feel I can penetrate in but am not doing well when it comes to generating traffic.
Questions like how my site is ever going to get ranked in google keep plaguing me. I know I'm a smart guy and by no means do I think I'm stupid. I just feel a little turned around that's all.
I could really use some help and encouragement.
btw... this is my favorite AM forum. This is going to sound weird but they seem to money-focused.
While I know that's the name of the game, I actually feel a sense of community and familiarity from reading through forum posts.

First... Relax, Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither are your sites.
Second... Step back from the keyboard, and get out a notepad. Doodle out a diagram of your sites, what they're focued on, what niches, etc. Get back to the "Big Picture" for a little bit.
Third... Then, focus in on your best performing site. Look at it, what is it that's working, what's not. Get rid of the not, try new things to test with. Really look hard at your analytics and log reports. What pages are hot, etc.
Fourth... Don't forget how each site you have is promoted. Every site you own needs (at a minimum) a Squidoo, WetPaint, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc., etc., etc. Don't forget the power of RSS...
Use your RSS feed to continuously update your social media sites. This works both to get your articles out there where people will find them, and SEO. Don't go all blackhat or anything.. But use your noodle.
Fifth... Quit building more sites.. You most likely have enough on your hands right now. Use the opportunity here to step back, and find out what really works for you. Work on an established site that's been up for a month. Look at it, analyze it, make appropriate changes and then move on to the next site. It's the same cycle programmers use when building code:
Plan the Code
Write the Code
Test the Code
Fix the Code
Test the Code
Fix the Code
And on and on.... It's one big huge debug cycle.
And yes, we're money focused here but more importantly, we're process driven. Alot of people on AffSpot know the process (and all the itty bitty pieces) and don't let pure money greed get in the way of making progress.
What we all know here (and you need to learn, like yesterday) is that if you focus on your offers, your content, your SEO, your promotion, etc., etc., etc. and work through all the fix test fix continuously the money will come.
Come by AffSpot more often.. Hit it once a day for 10 minutes. Skim the new posts, read the ones you want, give a reply or two.. Then finish that cup of coffee and get back to work. Even using AffSpot as a resource and refuge can be done inside of 10 minutes per day. Which will give you a break, and let you get back to it without going nuts.

Thank you very much for your reply. It definitely gave me a couple of headers and pointed me in the direction.
I feel like the little kid in the crowd trying to jump up and see the main event.
Hopefully it won't be too long before I start seeing some profits from my stuff.

There you go... Just building blogs over and over doesn't get it. I think Scott's got some good advice here (although I hate to admit it.. mine is usually better).
Don't get all replicating until you have 4 or 5 and are testing damned near everything. Just because a technique works in one niche doesn't mean it works in another.. to test and evaluate.
BTW... Your primary blog will gain some traction too I think. Not enough people let it all hang out there like yours does.

Letting it all hang out? I've noticed that people keep their business practices and niches close to the chest. While I understand that people need to protect their niches I'm thinking that my primary niche is probably how to break into the whole money making scene, so people can learn by my life experiences as I go.
While you see so many blogs touting their success I have yet to encounter one when someone puts their epic failures and emotional responses into a blog. I get pretty excited when I make $2 here and there. It tells me I'm doing something right and I need to do it better.
So I guess I do let it all hang out. Although I didn't expect my blog to turn into that but it looks like that's the direction it's heading.
Thanks all again for the advice.
And I'm here to stay at affspot.com
So everyone knows I am really living and breathing this stuff. I absolutely love it. I really haven't been this excited and eager to learn and acquire knowledge in a very long time. My passion for AM puts a lot of other stuff I value to shame.

You can expose technique without giving away your niches.. Or you can give away your niches without exposing your technique...
Just because your "hanging it all out there" doesn't mean give away the farm. It's that your documenting your efforts, frustrations, and successes... It's pretty good stuff.
It sure beats the hell out of stumbling onto a "guru" squeezepage full of scammy lies one of the scumbags is trying to foist out there.
